The Samuel Robinson Prize is an annual competition that challenges Master’s-level students at Princeton Theological Seminary to engage deeply with the Westminster Shorter Catechism—a foundational text of the Reformed tradition. This initiative reflects Princeton Seminary’s commitment to theological scholarship and spiritual formation, offering students the opportunity to strengthen their understanding of Reformed theology while competing for a prize of up to $1,000.

Competition Details
- Participants will complete a written examination, accurately answering 15 pre-selected questions from #40-85 of the Westminster Shorter Catechism.
- An oral response to a proctor’s question is also required.
- Passing Score: Only one error is allowed on the written portion.
Eligibility & Registration
- Who Can Enter? – Master’s-level students at Princeton Seminary who have not previously won.
